Accessibility statement

SkinCare.MD is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Access to health information should not depend on ability.

Our commitment

This site is the virtual dermatology practice of Dr. Dennis Porto, MD. We work to keep skincare.md usable across the widest practical range of devices, browsers, and assistive technologies, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time task.

Conformance

This website is built to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG Level AA is the standard referenced under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and by the U.S. Department of Justice in its rulemaking under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

We describe this site as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning most but not necessarily all of the success criteria are met. Where the default presentation does not meet a contrast threshold, the accessibility controls described below provide a conforming alternate version.

Accessibility features on this site

Color contrast

Body text, headings, and interactive controls on this site meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for WCAG Level AA at normal text sizes. A high-contrast mode is additionally available in the accessibility panel for users who prefer stronger differentiation.

Known limitations

We want to be straightforward about where barriers may remain:

How we test

This site is reviewed using manual keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom testing, and automated accessibility auditing tools. Testing is not exhaustive, and we welcome reports of issues we may have missed.
